The weight of a Guardian Ventures slab depends on its size, but thanks to their 8mm thickness, our engineered stone surfaces are considerably lighter than traditional 20mm or 30mm quartz worktops, making them easier to transport, handle and install.
Our standard 3000mm x 1400mm slab weighs approximately 60kg, while our larger 3200mm x 1600mm Jumbo slab weighs approximately 90kg. Despite being lightweight, both products are engineered to provide excellent strength, rigidity and long-term durability.
The reduced weight offers several practical advantages. It places less load on existing kitchen cabinets during overlay installations, can often be handled with smaller installation teams, reduces transport costs and makes manoeuvring large slabs through occupied homes considerably easier. This contributes to faster installations with less disruption for homeowners and improved efficiency for professional installers.
